Curt Pieper

I began experimenting with concrete to create simple yet elegant furniture. My love of nature is a bug influence in my life and is reflected in my art. My work has evolved from furniture designs to casting vessels with an earthy element. Incorporating glass, steel, and wood into my concrete poieces gives then an industrial edge while maintaining my underlying aesthetic of an organic appeal. Concrete is a unique medium. It can be manipulated to a certain point, but when I step back and allow the material to be true to its own characteristics, its own nature, that’s the dance with concrete that I desire.
